CHIMIC

9 y.o. male with temporal lobe epilepsy - seizures with simple partial onset (epigastric sensations) evolving to partial complex (motor automatisms) with/without secondary generalization. Fits occurring everyday, with maximal withdrawal for 1 week. None of the AED (anti epileptic drugs) effective.
Interictal EEG revealed generalizing sharp waves and spikes, as well as some focal slow waves. Side and focus of discharges hard to determine.
MRI revealed a mass in right temporal region (hippocampal region).
Pathology after surgery: dual pathology - FCD and ganglioglioma in right hippocampal complex
Resection (tumor lesionectomy) in Aug 2006 - since than seizure free
