Epileptogenic structures marked by epileptologis
Scans of 3 MRI sections with location of foci
7 y.o. male, with mild cognitive impairment and severe partial epilepsy (temporal seizures with mesiotemporal symptoms) not responding to any AED.
Interictal EEG showed frequent ictal discharges of sharp waves and spikes generalizing from right temporal region to whole right hemisphere.
MRI showed a mass within pole of the right temporal lobe as well as in mesial structures.
Operated on May 2006 - broad lesionectomy guided by ECoG.
Pathology - multiple pathology: ganglioglioma with pilocytic fragments of glial tissue, hippocampal sclerosis and some neuronal heterotopias within white matter of temporal lobe
